Checking Your Body’s Fuse Box

Doctor adjusting womans backBecause he’s an upper cervical specific chiropractor, Dr. Burgdorf not only evaluates and addresses the whole spine and the areas of complaint, but he focuses on the top two vertebrae of the neck, which are closest to the computer—the brain.

Those two vertebrae are like the “main breaker” on a fuse box—the one that controls the entire panel. So if there’s a misalignment in that area it can affect most parts of the body or other vertebrae within the spine’s positioning—other positioning of other vertebrae within the spine.

With the neck out of position, it affects the balance of the head. It also affects your posture and can cause your lower back to twist and contort. The result is back pain that started with a misalignment in your neck.

The good news is that when Dr. Burgdorf evaluates that “main breaker” the rest of your spine and body can heal and adapt more effectively.

We use an array of techniques to provide spinal adjustment to correct nerve interference, the root cause of pain and dysfunction in the body:

  • Upper Cervical Specific
  • Kale Knee Chest
  • Toggle Recoil
  • Gonstead
  • Thompson Drop Table

  • Diversified
  • Computerized Digital Range of Motion Studies & Testing
  • Computerized Digital Static and Motion X-ray
  • Computerized Thermal-Gradient Imaging

Nerve interference is a precise problem, which calls for a precise solution. To ensure precision, Dr. Burgdorf uses computerized Thermal-Gradient Imaging for accurate diagnosis and post-analysis.

“Each person’s spinal misalignment or subluxation is specific to them. It’s like a combination lock. And once we discover what that individual’s combination lock is like —what series of joints and angles need to be unlocked—you get the greatest effect, not only in pain relief but in overall function and in how the nerves are expressing themselves.”

Dr. Burgdorf explains that each patient’s precise problem and the way their nerves are transmitting correctly or incorrectly can be subtly measured by the Thermal Gradient Imager. He uses this technology before an adjustment to confirm which areas of the spine need to be adjusted and then conducts the test again afterward to confirm that nerve interference has been removed and how a particular adjusting technique may need to be adapted.

In addition to our chiropractic techniques, we offer supportive traction, heat and ice application, exercise instruction, supportive stretching and nutritional advice.

Is chiropractic safe and effective for all ages?

Yes, we have patients ranging from infants to the elderly, and our techniques and care are appropriate for everyone. You are evaluated for any possible contraindications prior to any treatment.
Does chiropractic care hurt?

No, not at all. Dr. Burgdorf is highly skilled in an array of techniques that are not painful. However, initially, as the body adapts the spine to a more balanced position, some occasional tightness or brief soreness may occur, similar to exercising for the first time in a long time.
Can you help with auto accident documentation?

Yes, Dr. Burgdorf’s thirty years of treating patients who have been involved in automobile accidents or injured on the job has made him very experienced in preparing the documentation required for such cases. Coordinating with insurance companies, other health providers, hospitals, and attorneys involves significant red-tape and paperwork that can be very difficult for a patient to navigate alone.Rest assured that Weymouth Specific Chiropractic can make this difficult time easier for you by documenting your condition and treatment accurately and thoroughly.

A Focus on Long-Term Wellness

Dr. Burgdorf also promotes post-adjustment rest. He focuses on providing a combination of chiropractic therapy and post-adjustment observation to ensure long-term wellness.
